If you think you've heard this news before, you are right. The owners of cPanel and Plesk, WebPros, are sticking to their yearly habit of charging more for software licenses. At the same time, regulators of .com
and .net
domains have given Verisign a higher wholesale price ceiling to stick to. Some other less popular TLDs are also on their way up.
We understand that budgets are tight, so we're doing our best to only pass on wholesale increases with our new pricing. Even so, we're sorry to hit you with this news.
New cPanel, Plesk and CloudLinux prices, effective 27 December 2024
When cPanel’s new pricing takes effect, the biggest percentage change will affect cPanel Solo. It will only be $5 cheaper than the five-licence cPanel Admin Cloud.
Product | Accounts | Old price | New price |
cPanel Solo | 1 | $35 | $65 |
cPanel Admin Cloud | Up to 5 | $65 | $70 |
cPanel Pro Cloud | Up to 30 | $95 | $105 |
cPanel Plus Cloud | Up to 50 | $130 | $135 |
cPanel Premier Cloud | Up to 100 | $170 | $175 |
Extra Sites | 100+ | $1 | $1.20 |
Most of the CloudLinux licences that we issue come bundled with either cPanel or Plesk. So even though it’s not a WebPros product, it is something that they supply to us.
Product | Old price | New price |
CloudLinux | $37 | $38 |
Plesk has fewer pricing tiers, but note that the unlimited Host Edition carries a different price for VPS and Dedicated Servers.
Product | Domains | Old price | New price |
Plesk Web Admin Edition for VPS | Up to 10 | 50 | 55 |
Plesk Web Pro Edition for VPS | Up to 30 | 80 | 95 |
Plesk Web Host Edition for VPS | Unlimited | 120 | 145 |
Plesk Web Host Edition for Dedicated Servers | Unlimited | 195 | 200 |
The repeating story of market power
Plesk and cPanel have had the same owner since 2018, and we’ve been on the price elevator ever since. That owner, WebPros, knows that cPanel and Plesk are popular because they’re hard to replace. Because users are more likely to absorb higher prices than go through the upheaval of systemic change, WebPros have the upper hand.
Like every other seller, we are left to raise our prices in turn, and to apologise. But unlike most other sellers we can also suggest a possible way out.

Cloud Containers might be the answer
Cloud Containers are our most popular hosting platform, and they are 100% free of cPanel and Plesk. Built on open source foundations, they avoid software licences entirely. They’re flexible and easy to use, too. It’s a quick process to set up a container or two and see what’s possible.
Over the years that WebPros have been tightening the screws, we've been improving and upgrading the Cloud Containers platform - and we definitely haven't been hitting users with price increases every year. Two recent examples are a virtualisation upgrade for every Cloud Container server, and access to highly detailed metrics for every Cloud Containers user. The value for money improves every year.
That’s not the only way off the WebPros escalator. Whether you want to make a move now or start an exit plan for later, we’re ready to talk through your options. The answer will depend on the environments you want to run and the way you manage user access to each of them, so we’ll listen first.
