If you’re setting up new a Linux VPS or Virtual Dedicated Server you can now provision Ubuntu LTS 22.04. This new release has passed our in-house testing and we’re looking forward to seeing how it performs for you.

Ubuntu LTS 22.04, known as Jammy Jellyfish, will be in support until 2027. Like all LTS releases it is considered “enterprise-grade” by its developers at Canonical. Because of their lifespan and dependability, LTS releases make up the vast majority of Ubuntu installations.

Jammy Jellyfish ships with multiple Linux kernels. Ubuntu Server defaults to LTS kernel v5.15. (The previous LTS release, 20.04, shipped with v5.4.) Canonical’s full release notes will tell you anything else you could want to know about Jammy Jellyfish.

As with any new releases, especially in the first few months, you might find compatibility issues with other third-party software or products. If you discover any issues let us know and we will do what we can to help out.
