This is easiest if you talk with us, partly because our advice on which platform (and how much of it) to go with can save you a lot of time, and partly because we'll be able to double-check your eligibility for introductory pricing nice and early.
Create your new SiteHost account and spin up your new hosting. You'll see our regular prices in the checkout, but don't worry about that. We'll rebate your discounts as soon as we can.
Email 3 months' bills from your old provider to sales@sitehost.nz. We're not prying, just checking that you're making a real move. As soon as that's confirmed, we'll rebate your discount on any bills you've already paid, and lock in lower pricing for the rest of the 12 month period. Once that's done, we won't keep any info that we don't need to.
Your special pricing will apply for your first 12 months (or your 12-36 month for Dedicated Servers), so you'll have plenty of time to feel good about your choices.

We've got a couple of VDSs and a couple of VPSs with SiteHost. We used to have our own servers - physical hardware in a data centre - and we were spending a lot of time maintaining them and checking on them when they crashed. Yes, when you place your order you'll see the option of a Linux VPS with 6 cores, 48GB RAM, 360GB storage and 600GB international bandwidth. At this level, the VPS's specifications and cost easily overlap with our Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS), so you might want to look at them too.
In short, the difference is speed. Our regular VPS platform delivers enough computing performance for most business needs, at a lower price. The platform is built on incredibly reliable, high-quality hardware and a battled hardened technology stack we've been running for well over a decade. High Performance Virtual Servers are built for intensive computing. High-spec hardware includes Ryzen 9 CPUs (which are so new that they have only been available in our Dedicated Servers for a few months), and the platform is managed via a newly-built virtualisation layer. It’s an entirely different platform built for a more demanding audience.
A VPS is powerful and configurable, which makes it a good fit for teams with an experienced sysadmin on board. It's also a good option when you require root or administrator access. We have a number of plans to cover almost every size project.
24/7 Management is a highly recommended optional extra, especially if your server will be hosting critical applications or websites where uptime is important. Problems arise, downtime happens, and you always have something else to be doing rather than worrying about infrastructure. Who would respond at 3am if there's an urgent problem, especially if you don't have your own dedicated system engineers? With 24/7 Management, you know the answer.
