InternetNZ's wholesale cost hike triggered our first price review in five years.

.

From 1 July, the prices that we charge for .nz domains are going to go up. Sorry.

As we blogged last month, InternetNZ has locked in a 22% increase in the wholesale cost of .nz domains. Since they’re effectively the monopoly supplier, this will hit the entire industry. It will apply to registrations and renewals of every domain on the .nz ccTLD, including .co.nz, .org.nz, .net.nz, etc.

This change was big enough for us to undertake our first review of these prices in five years. The exact cost of each domain depends on the total number of domains (whether .nz or not) in your portfolio.

No. of domains Old .nz price New .nz price
1 to 19 $35.00 $39.50
20 to 49 $29.00 $35.00
50 to 99 $25.50 $32.00
100 to 249 $24.50 $30.00
250 to 499 $23.50 $29.00
500 to 999 $22.50 $27.00
1000+ $20.00 $24.00

There’s still time to beat the price rise

Before July, our old prices still apply. Get your registrations or renewals in before then to lock in future years of domain ownership at today’s prices.

See how to renew domains, including bulk renewing multiple domains, in the Knowledge Base.

From June to September, earn account credits

From 1 June to 30 September, we’ll give you an account credit of up to $5 for every .nz domain that you transfer to us from any of our competitors. Read all about the offer now to see how much you could earn, and to learn a couple of common sense conditions.

Again, we’re sorry for the coming price rise. Sadly we didn’t have much of a choice. Please make the most of the time you have to lock in old prices before July, and the chance to earn account credits after that.
